Member Services

Training & Coaching:  offers guidance in administration, funding and operations to those desiring to start and operate Street Schools. This happens through selecting tools, technology and resources to standardize and support operations, the annual Conference, the Street School “Starter Kit”, webinars and seminars, strategic planning, personal coaching, web site resources and site visits. 

School & Student Strategy:  developed a continuous improvement program for school development and accreditation, which helps schools to create and implement the following - School Continuous  Improvement Plan (SCIP), Technology Plan, Fundraising Plan, Operational Plan and individual Student Learning & Career Transition Plans.

Data Tracking/Support & Interpretation:  created a specific system, StreetSchool Tracker powered by RenWeb that provides schools with the means to track all aspects of daily school operation and student performance.  Additionally, StreetSchool Network provides coaching for the integration of the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress assessment.  Data is interpreted, provided back to schools and used to strengthen the network as a whole, providing the means for schools to make data-driven decisions.

Economic Literacy:  partners with the Powell Center for Economic Literacy in the  ele:Vate Youth Initiative to provide an economic literacy curriculum, school based token economy and a school-based business loan bank for use in helping students at-risk understand and engage in the U.S. economy.

Technology: aids schools in securing and implementing computer labs, networks and on-line solutions for use by students and teachers for learning and sharing resources and knowledge in best practices across the network.

Instructional Design & Accreditation: The Street School Model is predicated on sound instructional design based on research and built upon the needs of our unique student constituency.  Each member school is guided through the “Essentials” ideal school conditions for meeting the needs of youth at-risk in curriculum, life-skills building, career preparation, spiritual development, school climate and non-profit operations to the point of achieving accreditation.

Funding: as possible through sub-granting, provides financial support to member schools for specific initiatives and program implementation and offers individual coaching to assist member schools with local fundraising efforts and board development.

Recruitment:  have designed StreetSchool Corps  to provide support to schools that need assistance with recruiting staff and volunteers.  StreetSchool Network posts needs on a variety of sites and also searches for and provides potential candidate matches to fill open positions.

Advocacy:  Forms national partnership with organizations like America’s Promise and companies like Jackson Hewitt to provide both recognition and additional resources to member schools.  Seeks to keep the work of member schools in the forefront of what is being done to solve the education crisis in our country.
